Friday, May 30 at 7:00pm

This time we decided to change things up a bit. We wanted to make sure you got the chance to meet some new people in the film community, show off some of your talent or see some talent you may have been looking for.

Don’t be late to this mixer. There will be a contest were teams will be chosen at random and you will then have to work together with your new found friends to make sure your team come out on top.

More details of the contest and the prizes will be released closer to the date of the mixer.

This our first mixer of the year and may be your first chance to secure a spot on a team or maybe find new members to add to your team. So be sure to spread the word. There will be many new faces this year so keep your eye out for them.

This is an ALL AGES event.

It’s 2014.
It’s hard to come up with completely ‘new’ concepts anymore.
But, since it is 2014, if you aren’t making something cool or interesting, there’s a good chance that nobody is going to care.

Luckily for filmmakers, there’s Experimental Film, which means we can literally do whatever we want in front of a camera or with film in general and at least say we’re trying.

Click here to see some cool new things that are happening in the crazy world of experimental film!

Buffalo is home to some of the most talented, creative and artistic individuals.

Does that statement come as a shock to you?

Let me ask you this;

  • Have you ever taken a drive around the Elmwood/Allen district and visited the many galleries literally walking distance apart?
  • Have you attended screening events for locally produced films or other video projects?
  • Have you ever visited some of the local musicians performing live at venues such as The Tralf, The Waiting Room or maybe even scoring an opening gig at The Town Ballroom?
  • Or let’s not forget about the on campus student art galleries at universities in Western New York, such as University at Buffalo, Canisius, or Buffalo State College.

Then why the shock?

The talent is here. The creativity is here. No doubt, the art is here.

But are the right spectators here?

In the last three years while being a student here in Buffalo I have witnessed and emerging interest from locals and students in the fashion world, it seems like Buffalo could be the next big Place of fashion.  With local designers, student groups, and regional organizations planning these massive fashion shows the demand for more is rising. Recently I’ve watched multiple fashion shows during this winters Fashion Week and got inspired to potentially bring on the action to Buffalo.

The Buffalo Central Train Terminal: What Side of the Tracks are you on? architecture

There is no denying that the Buffalo Central Train Terminal is one of the most fantastic, architectural structures in Buffalo, New York, but has tragically been abandoned for over 40 years. The Train Terminal has played a significant role in Buffalo film production and is still continuing to do so today, through local and even larger projects.   However, is this incredible building receiving the recognition it deserves, or are we letting a valuable piece of infrastructure go to waste?  Click here to read more.
